[Pre-order] Starcraft TMG - Protoss: Immortal

Description

Glory is Eternal

En Taro Adun, Executors!

The Protoss army continues to evolve through cutting-edge technology, and whenever overwhelming enemy fire threatens to break the battle line, the Hierarchy deploys the Immortals. Constructed from the remains of grievously wounded veterans and encased within towering mechanical war suits, these warriors are true mobile fortresses. Their powerful shields and devastating twin cannons can reduce even the heaviest enemy vehicles to smoldering wreckage.

When bringing this iconic unit to StarCraft®: Tabletop Miniatures Game, we knew its design had to perfectly capture the relentless nature that players know from the video game. On the tabletop, the Immortal is a massive mechanical walker with Size 3, mounted on an impressive 100mm base.

One look at the model is enough to tell that this is a unit built to withstand the most punishing bombardments imaginable.

We March to Victory

What truly makes the Immortal a nightmare for elite infantry and heavily armored enemy formations is its unique defensive toolkit.

Its Improved Barrier Reactive Ability allows the player to respond to incoming enemy fire. As long as the Immortal retains the Shielded status, any damage inflicted by the attacking weapon is automatically reduced to a maximum of 1 for that attack. This means you never have to worry about PIERCE keywords or weapons dealing a flat 2+ damage.

Another powerful option is Shield Overcharge, which grants the Immortal TOUGH (2), allowing it to convert up to two failed defense rolls into successes. Combined with its already impressive durability, this creates a war machine that is almost impossible to destroy in a single attack, making it the perfect unit to hold the center of the battlefield.

Imagine the following situation during a critical turn. Your Terran opponent has perfectly positioned a Siege Tank in Siege Mode, preparing a devastating attack with its powerful Shock Cannon. In response, the confident Protoss commander advances an Immortal directly into the line of fire.

The tank fires, but you activate Improved Barrier, reducing the potential Damage 3 from Aftershock Rounds to little more than the firepower of a Marine squad. Massive shells that would turn almost any other unit into a crater shatter harmlessly against the Immortal’s barrier, leaving only superficial damage behind.

By default, the Immortal is equipped with two Photon Disruptors. Because the secondary weapon has the SIDEARM keyword, the Immortal can fire both weapon profiles during the same attack sequence, selecting targets based on the battlefield situation.

And thanks to the Surge rule against Armoured targets, enemy units such as Siege Tanks or Ravagers are torn apart with ruthless efficiency.
