Few warriors on any battlefield are as fearsome as the chosen priestesses of Death. Their ability to enter a deep meditative state enhances their hearing to superhuman levels, allowing them to "see" through sound and gain a preternatural edge in combat. They move onto the battlefield with deadly grace, their blindfolded forms weaving together in perfect harmony, functioning as a single organism. Trusted by their tribes as midwives and healers, their medical training transforms them into lethal adversaries, delivering strikes that are meticulously aimed to inflict maximum damage—severing tendons, rupturing arteries, and locking joints with pinpoint accuracy as they evade their opponents’ clumsy attacks.
HOW THEY PLAY: The Chosen of Death embody the pinnacle of W'adrhun combat skill. Their primary role is to unleash a barrage of high-quality cleaving attacks, further enhanced by their powerful Death chants.
It takes a unique mindset to bond with one of the fiercest predators known to humanity. A blend of cunning, aggression, and fearlessness—when paired with patience—defines the world's greatest commanders. Unfortunately, patience is often in short supply among the fearless female W'adrhun who risk their lives to connect with these feathered killing machines, making their mounted commanders more dangerous than legendary. Few complain about this, and those who do don’t do so often.
HOW THEY PLAY: True to their name, Predators shun typical battle formations, opting instead to dash through enemy lines and create chaos. With their Hunting Packs, Raptor Riders, and Quatls, the Mounted Predator Warband focuses on precision, speed, and crafting a tumultuous combat environment that disrupts traditional tactics.
Soaring on thermals above the oases in the Wastelands, the Quatl has fascinated the W'adrhun since ancient times. However, bonding with and domesticating these fearsome beasts is a challenging process that begins as soon as they hatch, as they imprint on the first living being they recognize as their "mother." Many Braves have met tragic fates trying to tame adolescent Quatls, often torn apart by the furious parents or the beasts themselves. Once the secret of imprinting was uncovered, the number of Quatl riders began to grow, but the difficulty of acquiring healthy Quatl eggs has hindered their expansion. Reluctant to risk these precious resources in battle, clever riders have learned to harness the beast's speed, darting across the battlefield at breakneck speeds and using custom harpoons to strike their unsuspecting foes. Those who survive the brutal impact often fall victim to the sudden pull, with even larger creatures facing severe injury or death from a well-placed harpoon.
HOW THEY PLAY: Similar to birds of prey, the Quatl serves as the W'adrhun’s long-range operator, circling the battlefield to stalk enemies and key targets before swooping in to finish off engaged opponents, isolated ranged units, or to prevent enemies from capturing an objective zone.

Deep within the Wastlands stand the Oases, bright spots of life and life giving water in the otherwise blasted landscape that dominates these tormented lands. At the heart of one of these Oases lies a broken spire, brought low by the fire and fury of the Dweghom. While the fury might be spent, the fire still rages within its broken shell and from within this raging confluence of the elements steps the Suzerain of a Hundred Hateful Tides, Oyabun of the Yoroni to stake his claim deep in the heartlands of the W’adrhŭn territory. With the Ukunfazane distracted by the nascent revolt among the Cults, it falls to Nangenyua, the Shadow Who Walks, to prevent this culturally and strategically significant W’adrhun territory from being pulled into the ghostly realm of the Reikai forever. This set comes with a uniquely designed campaign book to encourage new and interesting narrative play for these armies.

Coming soon, the post – AdeptiCon update will allow a Scion of Conquest Warlord to include a Drumbeast in their Warband as a Mainstay!
The first recorded mention of the W’adrhŭn is a canto of the saga of Charles Armatellum that speaks of his peace treaty with the primitive tribes beyond the Claustrine Mountains. For centuries, the tales of nomadic savages with giant, pre-dominion beasts that dwell beyond the edges of civilization have been a source of entertainment, delight, and lazy, abstract deliberations amongst self-titled scholars and historians. The truth lies so far from these theories and witticisms as the wastelands and oases of the W’adrhŭn lie from the luxurious foyers these discussions are usually held in.

The W’adrhun were created by the Spires when they tired of spawning their armies and sought instead to breed them. Driven by their own sense of superiority and perfectionism, initial failures led the Spires to create the Primes: W’adrhun bodies powerful and perfect enough that they could be animated by the Primordial Aspects of War, Death, Famine and Conquest. Prematurely unleashed upon the Dweghom during the Fall, Conquest, the living goddess of the W’adrhun orchestrated their escape and survival even as her siblings each perished in the conflagration. Bred for war and baptized in the flames of battle, the W’adrhun have nonetheless struggled to find their own path in the world, seeking to shape their own culture away from the overwhelming influence of their own tailored creation.
